About

Juliana Lauletta

Juliana Lauletta

I am a Multimedia Artist, which means I use my skills, creativity and working knowledge of Photography, Video and Design to develop multiple projects from start to finish.

In other words, I have spent the last 20+ years around my computer + camera creating stuff and it doesn’t feel like work at all. Lucky me!

I have worked on a wide range of projects for clients like Panasonic, Santander, Peugeot Citroen, Honda Motors, Danone, McAfee, SeaWorld to name a few. And I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Film, a Diploma in Photography and several Certificates (Visual Arts, Animation, Screenwriting, Post-Production, Business and others).

I am originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil but I lived in Brisbane (Australia), London and Liverpool (UK) and even a few months in Porto (Portugal).

Since 2017, I have been showing my images in art exhibitions. My artist statement and exhibition list are down below.

And since 2019, I have started my curator career. So exciting!

Also, I have been running creativity/photography/art events and workshops with my Meetup groups. There is one in London (UK) called Become An Artist – London and two in São Paulo (Brazil) Artly Mix - Criatividade, Expressão e Arte and Acima de 40. Come and join us if you can. It is always good fun.

ARTIST statement

Rather than just recording a given moment, I am more interested in expressing ideas and crafting my images from scratch. I come up with a concept and build the props, often adding an element of surprise such as light movement, water or ink. Then I fall into a contemplative state while the scene unfolds before my eyes. In a millisecond, whatever I am focusing on through the lens can change completely – it is like expecting the unexpected. I love to explore the magic of storytelling through one single frame. And I am always on a quest to blur the line between photography and my own imagination.

Since 2015, I have run a Meetup group in London to empower emerging artists; it currently has more than 7000 members and we have hosted more than 190 art/creativity events and workshops.

My images have been featured on the BBC, TimeOut London and Londonist, and I have participated in exhibitions in London, Edinburgh, Arles, Prague and Brazil.
